Disc Golf in Sweden – 10 Years of Growth in Numbers and Statistics
Disc golf in Sweden is undergoing rapid development. To provide a comprehensive overview of this growth, Disc Tree has analysed 10 years of data from uDisc – the world's most used disc golf app. Based on this data, we present here the development in the number of courses, rounds played and registered players from 2016 to 2025. Please note that all figures reflect only activity registered in the app, and that the actual scale of the sport is likely considerably higher.
Disc golf is an accessible and challenging outdoor activity for everyone. The sport has seen remarkable growth in recent years, not least because it can be played across all ages, genders and fitness levels. At the same time, the infrastructure has grown steadily, with new courses opening continuously across the country.
The barrier to entry is low. Most courses in Sweden are free to play, no advance booking is required, and a starter set of 3 discs can be found for under 200 DKK. This makes disc golf one of the most accessible outdoor sports for the whole family.
This article is based on data that Disc Tree has reviewed from uDisc, the world's leading disc golf app.
